Laurenti Dyogi Admits Some Celebrities Enter Showbiz Through Reality Programs
LAURENTI DYOGI – ABS-CBN TV Production Head Laurenti Dyogi broke his silence on the rumors that some housemates of the reality program Pinoy Big Brother are pre-selected.
One of the Kapamilya shows that is greatly anticipated by many viewers is the reality show Pinoy Big Brother. It has continued for several seasons already and many of its former housemates are already stars in the Philippine showbiz industry now.
Among those who are products of the PBB are actors Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, and Joshua Garcia and actresses Kim Chiu and Loisa Andalio. Young Kapamilya actors Edward Barber and Marco Gallo and actresses Maymay Entrata and Kisses Delavin are also former PBB housemates.
However, just like other reality shows, the Pinoy Big Brother also faces issues and rumors. One of it is the rumor that there are already pre-selected housemates and only a very few came from auditions.
Based on a recent report in Pep, speaking to the source at the press conference for the Star Hunt which is a two-day event intended by ABS-CBN for those who aspire to enter the showbiz industry, ABS-CBN TV Production Head Laurenti Dyogi spoke regarding the issue.
Dyogi admitted that there are different ways on how to enter the showbiz industry and one of it is through the reality programs. According to him, some enter showbiz through managers and recommendations.
“Wala naman po kaming pinangako na lahat ng contestants, manggagaling lang sa auditions,” he said.
Meanwhile, Laurenti Dyogi stressed that those who were recommended by other managers and colleagues are required by them to go through auditions.
“Ang integrity namin is kept in, ang importante sa amin is yung makakabuti sa programa, bagay ka ba na maging housemate… So yun lang po ang lilinawin ko, I think this is a good opportunity. Yung audition is one way to join the contest,” the Kapamilya executive said.
Based on the report, among those who really went through the auditions are young Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia and actress Barbie Imperial. The Kapamilya team is currently preparing for the upcoming audition caravan, the Star Hunt, which would be held this April 20 and 21 at the Araneta Coliseum.
