Hundreds Of Axed Police Officials Remains On Duty Despite Dismissal Order
About hundreds of police officials who got fired from their positions remain on duty despite the dismissal order.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) chief has the authority to dismiss scalawag policemen based on the recommendation of Internal Affair Service (IAS) and regional commanders.
However, IAS was still receiving complaints regarding the erring police officials who have been already dismissed from their post, according to Atty. Alfegar Triambulo.
IAS inventory shows that the total resolved cases of PNP Internal Affairs Service from 2015 to 2017 was 2, 431.
The PNP has already implemented the dismissal of about 721 cops (30%) and 1, 710 police officers (70%).
The police officer was given 10 days to file a motion for reconsideration after receiving the dismissal order and the PNP chief needs to give the final decision after 30 days.
The directorate for personnel and records management of PNP said that they continue to implement the dismissal of policemen with administrative cases.
