Freddie Roach Hurt By Pacman Snub After Parting Ways
Freddie Roach, the long-time trainer of the Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao said that he was hurt by the boxer decision to fire him as his coach.
On Friday (April 13, 2018), the veteran coach Freddie Roach has confirmed his split with Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao after working for over 15 years.
Roach revealed that he was hurt after learning Pacman’s decision to indirectly fire him before its match with the Argentinian fighter Lucas Matthyse.
The trainer also wishes nothing but the best for the Filipino boxer after having a great run for more than a decade.
“I wouldn’t trade any of it. Inside the boxing ring and the political ring, I wish Manny nothing but the best. I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t hurt that he didn’t contact me personally about his decision, but the great times we enjoyed together far outweigh that,” Roach said quoted by Inquirer.
The veteran coach is always with Pacman’s corner during its peak in the world of boxing and also helped to mold him as one of the greatest boxers in the world history.
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao was set to fight Matthyse in Kuala, Lumpur on July 15, 2018, attempting to steal the WBA welterweight belt.
