Village Official In Misamis Oriental Arrested During Drug Buy-Bust Operation
A village official in Misamis Oriental got arrested during a drug buy-bust operation due to alleged involvement on illegal drugs.
On Saturday (April 07, 2018), the police officers of Gitagum, Misamis Oriental has arrested Dario Loretche, the village councilor of Matangad.
The police and anti-drug agents caught the councilor yielding about two sachets of an illegal substance and marked money when frisked during the buy-bust operation.
In 2016, the 50-year-old politician had already surrendered to Philippine National Police’s Operation Tokhang fearing for his life.
The police officials revealed that Loretche continued his illegal activities and also sold drugs, which pushed them to place him at the 7th of the provincial drug watch list.
Loretche was the third village officials who have been arrested this year for being allegedly involved on illegal drugs.
In January 2018, Annie Seriño, a councilor of Linangkayan in Naawan town together with her husband and son got arrested during a buy-bust operation.
In February 2018, Johnny Denque, the village chief of Camanga in Manticao town was also nabbed during a raid.
The arrest of the village officials proved the claim of President Duterte that numerous barangay officials are involved in illegal activities.
