Korean Cosmetic Products That Allegedly Contains Toxic Ingredient
Here are several Korean cosmetic products, which are currently banned for allegedly containing toxic ingredient and hazardous substance.
About 13 cosmetic products have been banned by the South Korean government for allegedly having hazardous material.
The South Korean government has also ordered a recall to the alleged unsafe product after finding inappropriate levels of metal antimony.
The beauty products contain an antimony level ranging from 10.1 parts per million to 14.3 ppm on 13 cosmetic products, according to South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The agency only gives a permissible level of 10 ppm but the beauty products allegedly exceeded the given limit.
Here are some of the Korean products having hazardous substance:
- 3CE Slim Eyeshadow Pencil (Chesnut brown shade)
- Aritaum’s Full Cover Cream Concealer and Stick Concealer
- Black Monster Homme Black Erasing Pen
- Makeheal Naked Slim Brow Pencil (Shades BR0203 and YL0801)SKEDA Concealer
- Skinfood Cherry Full Lip Liner
- XTM Style Homme for Men Easy Stick Concealer
Amorepacific, a leading beauty conglomerate and maker of Aritaum and Etude House has issued a statement regarding the incident.
“We apologize for the incident, we should have put all our focus on quality assurance. We will do our best to prevent similar cases from happening again. Customers who have products on the recall list can visit Aritaum or Etude House stores to get the products exchanged or refunded,” Amorepacific said quoted by Philstar.
Etude House Singapore has also issued a statement following the recall of the affected products, which were manufactured Hwasung Cosmetics, a subcontractor of Amorepacific and mostly distributed in South Korea.
