Why did not Edu Manzano renew his contract under the GMA-7?
EDU MANZANO – Television host and actor Edu Manzano revealed the reason why he did not renew his contract under the Kapuso network.
One of the celebrities who has managed to remain in the showbiz industry until now is actor-TV host Edu Manzano, the father of Kapamilya TV host Luis Manzano. He has been under the Kapuso network for a long time and he’s the host of the comedy game show Celebrity Bluff.
Recently, the actor-TV host decided not to renew his contract under the GMA-7 and accept the role offered to him in ABS-CBN’s action television series Ang Probinsyano which is mainly starred by Kapamilya star Coco Martin.
Ang Probinsyano has been extended for several years already based on a report. There were also speculations that it might continue airing until the year 2019. Meanwhile, none from the camp of the TV series’ producers and casts has yet denied or confirmed the speculations.
Based on a recent report in Pep, in an interview with the source at the first-anniversary celebration of actress Ara Mina’s business Hazelberry Cafe, Edu Manzano opened up about his decision not to renew his contract under the Kapuso network and accept the Kapamilya’s offer.
According to Edu, he has been in the Celebrity Bluff for a long time and it is also good not to be tied to one genre.
“Maganda rin yung masubukan mo rin lahat,” he expressed.
Based on the report, the main reason that Edu Manzano returned to ABS-CBN is that his contract with GMA-7 is already done. He stressed that there was an option to renew his contract with the Kapuso network but the offer from the Kapamilya also came.
“Matagal-tagal na rin yung offer sa Ang Probinsyano sa akin,” the actor-TV host said.
Edu also cited during the interview that every network has its own strength – GMA being known for its fantasy shows while ABS-CBN was known for its drama shows. According to him, he is lucky to try everything including a game show.
Based on the report, in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Edu Manzano will be playing the role of Vice President Lucas Cabrera who is one of the biggest enemies of Ricardo Dalisay, the role played by Coco Martin.
