French Pharmaceutical Sanofi Pasteur Denies Concealing Dengvaxia Risks From The Public

The French drugmaker company Sanofi Pasteur denied the accusations of hiding the risks of Dengvaxia vaccine to the public.

On Wednesday (February 28, 2018), Sanofi Pasteur has lambasted the inaccurate information of allegedly concealing the side effects of the controversial dengue vaccine.

The drug company also explained that all their vaccines undergo several stages of processes before introducing it to the public.

“All our vaccines undergo extensive clinical investigations and their efficacy, safety and public health impact is continuously followed up post license,” Sanofi Pasteur said quoted by GMA.

Sanofi Pasteur learned about the various product profile of the vaccine for those with or without prior dengue infection in November 2017.

The French pharmaceutical giant claimed that they had released all the available data transparently with the national health authorities in the countries where the vaccine was approved.

The statement of the foreign drug company came after Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel, chair of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability announced that Sanofi Pasteur will be held accountable for the Dengvaxia issue.

Dr. Anthony Leachon, a health reform advocate said that Sanofi allegedly knew the risks of Dengvaxia since 2015, but only revealed it last year.
