Anti-Rama Tarpaulin “Ikaw Sunod” Display Shocked Cebuanos
The “Ikaw Sunod” anti-Rama tarpaulin display hanging in a skywalk in Barangay Basak Pardo in Cebu has shocked the Cebuanos.
The Cebu City Police office is currently investigating the controversial tarpaulin showing the photo of former mayor Michael Rama with words written: “Ikaw Sunod” placed beneath an overpass in Barangay Basak Pardo.
The tarpaulin displays show Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., who was slain inside his detention cell in November 2016 and lawyer Jonnah John Ungab who died in an ambush last February 19, 2018, whose both faces marked with an “X” while Rama’s head was encircled.
The poster seems indicates that the former mayor will be the next person who will suffer the same fate experienced by Espinosa and Ungab.
Michael Rama was not bothered by the alleged threat calling it as a cheap political gimmick, which would not do by someone who wanted to kill him.
However, Rama said that the matter worries his family, friends, and supporters after President Rodrigo Duterte included him in the list of alleged drug protectors.
“But that should not be taken for granted because it’s there. When I was wrongly named by the president, it bothered all, my family, my supporters, friends and even my relatives in the States. It caused worry to all,” Rama said quoted by Sunstar.
Rama also repeatedly denied all the accusations against him and insisting his innocence on all the allegations.
Supt. Ryan Devaras, chief of the Intelligence and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said that they will study the video footage to find out who’s responsible for posting the tarpaulin.
Meanwhile, the former mayor asked for a police escort from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 headquarters for protection.
