Netizens Slams Politicians Who Pose Korean Hand Gestures While Greeting Happy Chinese New Year
The photo of Filipino politicians posing Korean hand gestures while greeting Happy Chinese New Year lambasted by the netizens.
Chinese New Year is being celebrated in different countries all around the world as it is one of the most prominent and celebrated festivals.
Countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mauritius, Australia, and the Philippines are the countries celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Recently, a Facebook user named Raphael Reyes has uploaded the photo of a tarpaulin of two Filipino politicians posing a Korean hand gesture on a Chinese New Year Greeting.
In the photo, it can be seen that Congressman Ricky and Vice Mayor Jeanne are posing a finger heart gesture, which was popularized by Korean pop star artists.
Unfortunately, some of the social media users have lambasted the politicians for their alleged foolish act but some of the netizens that there’s nothing wrong with the tarpaulin as various countries also celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Summer Ramirez Zamora: “So kung ang basehan pala ng finger sign na yan e nationality why does pinoys doing it? Filipinos and Koreans are not the same also.. lol”
Rein De Guzman: “ I don’t understand why they call it “Chinese New Year”, the fact that even Koreans are celebrating it.. The appropriate term for that is “Lunar New Year”.”
