SM Supermalls or Shoe Mart is one of the most popular shopping malls in the Philippines trooped by countless shoppers every day.

As of 2017, SM has already 67 branches across the country and 7 malls in China with about a dozen are expected to open this 2018.

The Chinese-Filipino magnate Henry T. Sy Sr. is the owner of the largest shopping malls in the country, which came from a very humble beginning.

Recently, the Facebook page “Philippines Shocking History” has uploaded the photo of the first ever Shoemart in 1958 located at Carriedo.

The photo brought a lot of nostalgic memories showing the first ever SM of Henry Sy who is now one of the richest men in the country.
