What is super blue blood moon? This most anticipated rare phenomenal event will occur on Wednesday (January 31, 2018).
Stargazers and most people interested in astronomical events are now much hype and excited to witness the so-called “Super Blue Blood Moon.”
Super blue blood moon is the combination of a supermoon, blue moon, and blood moon happening at the same time, which is a very rare astronomical event.
Supermoon – It is an event wherein the moon appears larger and brighter compared to the usual full moon because moon reaches its closest distance to the earth.
Blue moon – it is the second full moon of the calendar month, which usually occurs every two to three years.
Blood moon – It can be seen during a total lunar eclipse, wherein the color of the moon turns to red.
This phenomenal event will be visible to our naked starting 8:51 to 10: 07 pm on Wednesday night. The last super blue blood moon in the Philippines appears last December 30, 1982.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) also advised that watching the super blue blood moon away from city lights would be better.
