Tropical Cyclone Forecast For February – July 2018
Here is the tropical cyclone forecast for the month of February until July 2018 and the list of cyclone names for this year.
A tropical cyclone is a rapidly rotating storm characterized by strong winds and a spiral form of thunderstorms producing heavy rains.
The Philippines, which sits astride the typhoon belt usually experience annual torrential rain and thunderstorms from July to October.
About 19 typhoons enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and nine of them makes a landfall every year.
Recently, GMA network has issued a tropical cyclone forecast estimating the numbers of weather disturbance that could enter PAR starting February until July 2018.
Here are the months and the numbers of the tropical storms that could enter PAR:
- February – 0 or 1
- March – 0 or 1
- April – 0 or 1
- May – 1 to 2
- June – 2 to 4
- July – 1 to 2
