Karen Davila Reveals Side on Mocha Uson’s Controversial Award

MOCHA USON – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary for Social Media Mocha Uson reacted to the social media post of news anchor Karen Davila over her controversial award.

The award given by the UST Alumni Association Inc. (UAAI) to Asec. Mocha Uson is currently one of the controversial topics. The alumni association of the prominent University gave the Thomasian Alumni Award to Uson.

Based on a report, the UST has released an official statement regarding the matter stressing that the UAAI is separate from the University. The alumni association has yet to release a statement regarding the matter.

According to the report, the University of Santo Tomas Central Student Council (UST-CSC) and the UST’s student paper, The Varsitarian, opposed the decision of the alumni association to give the Thomasian Alumni Award to the Assistant Secretary.

The student publication even urged the officials of the alumni association to vacate their positions.

Based on the report, UST Alumni Association Pres. Henry Tenedoro told ABS-CBN News in a phone interview that they are not leaving their positions. They will still meet to talk about the issue.

Recently, ABS-CBN news anchor Karen Davila posted her reaction to the issue on social media. In her Tweet, Davila stated that she will return the award to the UST alumni association if she is in part of Asec. Mocha Uson.

The PCOO Assistant Secretary for Social Media reacted to the post of the news anchor. In her Facebook page, Mocha posted a screenshot of Davila’s tweet and along with it is her reaction.

Mocha Uson told Karen Davila through the post that she has nothing against returning the award but she does not want to appear as proud. She expressed her hope that the same concern given to her award would be given to the Dengvaxia issue,

In her post, the Assistant Secretary told the news anchor there are lots of other more important topics to be discussed in her program.
