Magnitude 6.3 quake shakes off the coast of Mexico.
MEXICO CITY – An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 hits the waters between Baja California Sur and Sonora, Mexico on Friday Morning.
According to a report from the GMA News, the US Geological Survey said that the quake actually has a measure of 6.3 in magnitude after initially reporting that it was 6.6.
The epicenter was 77 kilometers (48 miles) north-northeast of the town of Loreto in the state of Baja California Sur.
The quake has a depth of about 6 miles.
Loreto is the town closest to the quake.
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto shared on Twitter that there were no immediate reports of damages and ruled out the risk of the tsunami that hit the Gulf of California.
