Ryan Homan, One Of The Top 50 Global Teacher Award Finalists Because Of His Advocates
An elementary school teacher named Ryan Homan is now one of the finalists for top 50 Global Teacher Award due to his “Balsa Basa” advocacy.
Ryan Homan, an elementary school teacher in Donsol Sorsogon rose to fame after launching his “Balsa Basa” and “Walk for Knowledge” advocacy just to teach the kids in remote areas of Sorsogon.
The head teacher of San Jose Elementary School launched his programs in 2013 to share their knowledge with unfortunate children.
The teachers and students of the school were riding a wooden raft heading to Barangay San Jose for “Balsa Basa” program every weekend. They were carrying books and portable speaker in a picnic-like teaching.
While the “Walking for knowledge” program was prompting the group to walk one kilometer to reach their destination wherein they can have a reading and storytelling lesson for kids.
Homan has also implemented a school reading party and reading garden inside the school’s vicinity.
The kind teacher also has now become one of the inspirations of other teachers because of his passion and dedication in teaching
Recently, the Twitter page “Radyo La Verdad 1350” has shared that the kind teacher from Sorsogon is now one of the finalists for Top 50 Global Teacher Award because of his advocates.
