Expect Massive Earthquakes This 2018 Due To Earth’s Slowing Rotation, Experts Says

The field experts have warned of massive earthquakes this year 2018 because of the alleged slowing rotation of the earth.

Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado in Boulder and Rebecca Bendick of the University of Montana in Missoula said that the changes on the earth’s rotation could possibly double the number of earthquakes experienced by the planet.

Bilham said that the scientists have studied earthquakes above magnitude 7.0 for more than a century and found five periods of time where earthquakes’ intensities were higher than the previous tremors.

The experts have also found out that the slower rotation of the planet was followed by higher rates of powerful tremors, which allegedly occurs roughly every 32 years.

The recent slowdown in the earth’s rotation was recorded last 2011 and the planet is offering a five-year heads-up on future earthquakes, according to Bilham.

The scientist also assumed that the earth would experience at least 20 earthquakes per year starting in 2018.

We have had it easy this year. So far we have only had about six severe earthquakes. We could easily have 20 a year starting in 2018,” Bilham said quoted by Antimedia.

The seismologists also found out that most of the major earthquakes related to the earth’s rotation usually occurs near the equator.
