SM Employee Jailed For Stealing Can Of Corned Beef Due To Extreme Hunger
An SM employee got arrested and charged with qualified theft after stealing and eating a can of corned beef inside the warehouse of the hypermarket.
The 21-year-old Paul Matthew Tanglao, an employee of SM Hypermarket got arrested after stealing a can of corned beef worth P31.50 and eating it inside the warehouse because of extreme hunger.
The culprit was detained at the Santa Ana station of the Manila Police District and facing charges of qualified theft filed by the management of SM Hypermarket Sta. Ana, Manila.
The hypermarket crew was caught by the mall security guard hiding the can of corned beef inside his apron around 5:40 pm on Sunday (December 11, 2017).
The security guard quickly reported the incident to his supervisor and to the management. The department head has requested one of his subordinates, a cashier, to file charges against the culprit.
Tanglao was charged with qualified theft under Article 310 of the revised penal code wherein a person steals from the establishment who had given their trust and confidence to the suspect.

Dapat inalam muna nila ano ang dahilan bakit niya nagawa yun, di natin alam , baka may pinagdaanan na problema yung tao, baka walang makakain sa bahay. Kung magkaganun man, dapat suspension lang muna, first offense palang naman yata eh. Kawawa yung tao. Sana i-withdraw nila ang kaso, kawawa yun tao lalo na kung may pamilya.
