Ely Buendia Rearranges Eraserheads Hit Songs
The Filipino rock icon Ely Buendia has rearranged and gave a modern groove to the classic hit songs of his band Eraserheads.
Last weekend, popular Filipino music artists have rocked the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on their “GetMusic: NU107 Rock Years” bringing a nostalgic 90’s feeling to listeners.
Ely Buendia, the lead vocalist of Eraserheads strengthened his legacy as a rock legend for performing the band’s hit songs including “Pare Ko,” “Alapaap,” “Magasin,” “Maling Akala,” “Spolarium,” “Super Proxy,” “Shake Yer Head,” and “Ang Huling El Bimbo”.
The 47-year-old vocalist sings the Eraserheads’ classics in a new arrangement but with the same ‘90s vibe. Ely performed the band’s hit songs in full band with the addition of keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and three female backup singer.
Eraserheads’ rendition of “Magasin” began with a slower tempo backed up by the keyboard emphasizing Ely’s dominating the entire concert venue. Later the song turns into a funky one as accompanied by other musical instruments.
Aside from Eraserheads, other Filipino bands including Rivermaya and Itchyworms also played at the same concert. Pinoy musicians such as Ebe Dancel and Barbie Almabis has also rocked the weekend.
