Hashtag Paulo Angeles has issued a statement over his controversial tweet against TV host and comedian Joey de Leon.
Recently, the Eat Bulaga mainstay made a buzz online with regards to a throwback photo of him which he posted on the image-sharing site, Instagram.
In the photo, Joey de Leon can be seen floating on the Dead Sea, a salt lake found at the border of Israel and Jordan.
“Nuknukan ka na ng katangahan pag sa DEAD SEA nalunod ka pa!,” the accompanying caption on the photo stated.
The photo was published online but then deleted. It surfaced on social media by the time Hashtag Franco was given tribute by his fellow hosts on It’s Showtime.
Franco Hernandez died in a drowning incident in Davao Occidental last November 11.
Hashtag Paulo then went on Twitter to slam Joey over his post.
“Tanda mo na bastos ka pa. Wala akong pake kahit sikat ka. Mga joke mo wala sa lugar. Sobrang bastos mo,” he noted.
The 20-year-old Hashtags member did not mention who’s he referring to his post but it’s clear that it’s being addressed to the 71-year-old comedian.
According to Paulo in his interview with PEP.ph, he divulged such statement out of frustration.
When asked what prodded him to tweet furious statement against the comedia, he said: “Kasi nagluluksa kami noon, tapos magdyu-joke ka ng ganun…
“Napag-usapan nga namin yun during nung lamay, naging topic ng isang araw. Maraming nasaktan sa ginawa niya, marami ang nag-react. Nasaktan ako kaya nagawa ko yun,” he added.
