Tarpaulin Banner To Welcome ASEAN Delegates Misspells “Philippines”

The tarpaulin banner, which was supposed to be presented to welcome the ASEAN delegates was misspelled the name of our country “Philippines”.

The Philippines will be the host for the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits, which starts today up to Tuesday next week (November 10-14, 2017).

The international gathering will be participated by around 20 world leaders including US President Donald Trump and hundreds of diplomats, which will be the biggest event in the Southeast Asia this year.

The country made a great preparation this international event to make foreign leaders feel that they are welcome. The big preparation for this summit was also the country’s strategy to promote the Philippines worldwide.

However, there are still some little mistakes during the preparation such as the tarpaulin banner supposed to welcome the ASEAN delegates, but it misspelled the name of our country.

In the photo taken by the news site “Rappler,” it can be seen that the spelling of our country the Philippines was mistakenly spelled “Philppines”.

One of the banners was found on a footbridge along Legarda Street and near Recto Avenue in Manila being vandalized by a group of male youth.
