Thinking Pinoy Blogger RJ Nieto Possibly Commits Crime For Encouraging Public Official To Throw Hollow Block At Journalist
Rey Joseph Nieto or popularly known as Thinking Pinoy Blogger might have committed crime over a hollow block comment against a journalist.
On Sunday (November 05, 2017), the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) said that RJ Nieto possibly committed a crime for encouraging a senior government official to throw a hollow block at a journalist.
Thinking Pinoy blogger has encouraged presidential spokesperson Harry Roque to throw a hollow block at Rappler’s Pia Rañada in his radio program “Karambola” on dwIZ.
“There is no other way to see it but this: RJ (Rey Joseph) Nieto encouraged a senior government official on air to throw ‘hollow blocks’ against a journalist, thereby threatening her, thereby possibly committing a crime,” wrote by NUJP on its Facebook account quoted by GMA.
Nieto’s comment against Rañada was considered by the journalist group as a dastardly act.
NUJP said that it will support Rañada’s decision to file a complaint against dzIZ with the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas over Nieto’s comments on his radio program.
The journalist group will also support the Rappler’s executive if she will file Criminal and civil charges against Nieto.
The group explained that Nieto has crossed the line and will face consequences for endangering a working journalist. It also said that it was a shame for Roque for allowing the TP blogger’s comment on air.
Roque also asked his fellow Duterte supporters to stop lambasting Rañada and other journalists.
