Magnitude 4.1 Earthquake Rocks Catanduanes

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announced that a magnitude 4.1 earthquake has struck Catanduanes.

The volcanology agency said that the province of Catanduanes has been struck a magnitude 4.1 earthquake around 11:14 am on Tuesday late morning (October 31, 2017).

The tremor’s epicenter was located about 68 kilometers northwest of Pandan in Catanduanes, according to the volcanology agency.

The quake is tectonic in origin and has a depth of 10 kilometers. Intensity 2 was felt in Legazpi City and Intensity 3 was felt in Naga City.

As of now, Phivolcs said that there are no damage and casualties were reported.

There are also no aftershocks and tsunami alerts were expected due to the quake.
