Iloilo International Airport manager Mecine Torres Reyes reacts to Cebu Pacific Iloilo overshooting runway.
CEBU PACIFIC – Iloilo International Airport manager Mecine Torres Reyes clueless on probable cause of overshooting incident of the Cebu Pacific plane.
According to a previous report, it was on Friday of the previous week, dated October 13, 2017, when an aircraft on the Cebu Pacific overshoots at the runway of Iloilo International Airport around 11:15 pm in the evening.
The aircraft was accordingly carrying 180 passengers and has a flight number 5J461 coming from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The passengers were immediately attended by the personnel of the airport to ensure their safety when an emergency evacuation has been announced.
One of the passengers, Loui Latoza, even stated, “Yung pilot nag-advise na mag-prepare for landing. Nagulat lang kami lahat kasi parang ang lakas ng bagsak namin. It was a very unusual landing kasi sunod sunod na parang dumaan ka sa rough road hanggang sa masubsob na kami nang biglang preno.”
And now, according to a report from the RMN Iloilo, the manager of the Iloilo International Airport, Mecine Torres Reyes, said she was clueless about the cause of the incident.
According to the interview of the source with the manager, Reyes said that she cannot answer for she as well has no idea of what could be the possible causes of the incident.
Based on her statement, it is their central office who can entertain and clarify to everyone of how the overshooting has happened.
Furthermore, she can’t release any information to the public for they are following certain protocols that it should their Central Office in Manila which should take out a statement over the incident.
And she even added that the resume of the flights was not under their control for, as per this aspect, it is the decision of the higher officials.
