Meanwhile, based on the latest weather update released by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Bagyong Paolo with international name Typhoon Lan, has maintained its strength as it moves North Northwestward over the Philippine Sea.
Bagyong Paolo was last spotted 150 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (10.5°N, 117.6°E) as per advisory issued at exactly 11:00 a.m.
Paolo has maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph and is forecast to move North Northwest at 15 kph.
Typhoon Paolo will bring scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, Bicol region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and ARMM.
PAGASA also noted that sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon, the seaboard of Palawan, the western and eastern seaboards of Visayas and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao.
According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, Typhoon Paolo was expected to intensify and transform into a super typhoon for the next 48 hours as it moves towards Japan.
Bagyong Paolo is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday (October 22, 2017).
