Cathy Garcia-Molina Reveals Why She’ll Retire From Directing In 2 Years

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina revealed that she’ll retire in two years.

CATHY GARCIA-MOLINA – Filipino director Cathy Garcia-Molina who is behind many of the hit movies in the Philippines will leave the field of film directing in two years.

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina has directed lots of films that are on the list of highest-grossing films in the country. She is even considered as the box-office director of the country.

She directed the hit movie One More Chance starred by actor John Lloyd Cruz and actress Bea Alonzo. The said movie was her second time to work with the two stars as she had also worked with them in the film Close to You together with actor-singer Sam Milby.

Director Cathy is also the director of You Changed My Life starred by John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo in 2009. She also directed the Miss You Like Crazy with John Lloyd and Bea as the casts.

Based on a report, Director Cathy Garcia-Molina is also the director behind the upcoming family comedy-drama film Seven Sundays which is expected to be out in theaters soon.

The said film is starred by Aga Muhlach, Ronaldo Valdez, Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes, and Enrique Gil.

Based on a report in Pep, during the film’s press conference, Director Cathy Garcia-Molina expressed that she’ll retire from directing in two years.

In a general press conference, the source asked the director if she would really retire from directing and she answered in the affirmative.

According to Director Cathy, she has already told the company but she is not yet given permission. The 45-year-old director expressed that it is time for her to give back to her children her time.

She has two kids – Kayin, 12, and Basha, 11. Meanwhile, based on the report, Director Cathy Garcia-Molina still has two films to make – one starred by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla while the other is starred by megastar Sharon Cuneta and actor Robin Padilla.

In an interview with the press after the conference, Director Cathy shared that another reason why she will retire from directing is to be with her non-showbiz boyfriend whom she did not name.
