BREAKING NEWS: Former Cagayan Town Vice Mayor Shot Dead

Alexander Pascual, the former vice mayor of Amulung town in Cagayan was shot dead on Wednesday, October 4, in Tuguegarao City.

According to the initial investigation of the police, Pascual, who served as vice mayor of Amulung from 2013 to 2016 was killed after unidentified gunmen fired at him at around 6:30 am in Barangay Carig.

Authorities said that the victim was riding his motorcycle in front of the regional office building of the Department of Education (DepEd) when the suspects open fired.

The ex-vice mayor of Cagayan town was able to drive his motorcycle away from the crime scene until he fell off from his vehicle and died.

No witness was identified in the said killing but some people claimed that they heard gunshots prior to the attack.

Based on the report of Rappler.com, the police are still verifying the suspects who remain at large.

Pascual,  an ex-vice mayor of Cagayan town was also an ex-councilor of the said town.

He also ran for mayor of Amulung during the 2016 elections, however, he lost the post to Nicanor De Leon, who’s the incumbent mayor.
