Phivolcs Says Magnitude 4.7 Quake Struck Sulu Province
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.that a magnitude 4.7 quake has struck Sulu province.
On Friday early morning (September 29, 2017), the volcanology agency announced that a magnitude 4.7 earthquake shook the province of Sulu around 12:53 am.
The quake epicenter was located about 43 kilometers southwest of Pangantucan, Sulu with a depth of 14 kilometers, according to the bulletin posted by Phivolcs.
Phivolcs explained that the earthquake was tectonic in origin, but there is no tsunami alert and aftershock was raised in the province.
The volcanology agency recorded no damage or any casualties as of this writing.
