The much-awaited world-renowned festival of Bacolod City, the Masskara Festival, is set to kick off this October.
This year’s festival showcases the world-class talent of Bacolodnons in various presentations such as in dancing, pageant, and to name a few.
Here’s the schedule of events and activities in Masskara Festival 2017:
The highlights of Masskara Festival 2017 will be on October 21-22, 2017 featuring the highly anticipated Street and Arena Dance Competition.
A total of 15 barangays in the Barangay Category and 11 schools in the School Category will compete this year.
The barangays which will join in this year’s showdown are the following; 5, 7, 8, 15, 18, 26, 29, 39, 40, Alijis, Banago, Mandalagan, Pahanocoy, Punta Taytay, and Tangub.
While the participating schools in elementary level are as follows; Education and Training Center School (ETCS)- I (District VI), Banago Elementary School II (District I), Bata ES II (District II), Mabini ES (District III), Mariano G. Medalla Integrated School (District VII), Handumanan ES I (District IV) and , Luis Puentevella ES (District V) .
On the other hand, the secondary schools which will compete in the Street and Arena Dance Competition are Bacolod City NHS (Unit III), Domingo Lacson National High School (Unit I), Paglaum NHS (Unit IV) and, Romanito Maravilla NHS (Unit II).
I am planning to visit the M(removed)kara festival in 2018.
I attended the festival last month and honestly it was the best life time experience for me.
