Museum Named “Museo ni Jesse Robredo” Amounting P52-M Received Criticism From Netizens
The netizens react on the opening of the P52 million worth of museum, which was named “Museo ni Jesse Robredo” in Naga City.
Last month, “Museo ni Jesse Robredo” in Naga City has been opened to the public on the fifth death anniversary of the late DILG Sec. Jesse Robredo, who died in a plane crash last 2012.
The museum has been funded by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP). It was intended as a tribute to the former Naga City Mayor;s exemplary life and legacy of good governance of the long-time politician.
However, the Facebook page “Leni Robredo’s Fashion Diary” received criticism from the social media users after uploading the photos of “Museo ni Jesse Robredo”.
The social media page also questioned NHCP for funding the museum amounting millions of pesos although Jessie Robredo served only two years as DILG secretary.
“Yung 2 years lang nagsilbi sa national government, nagkaroon na ng P52 million Museum built-in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. National budget pa din ba ang gamit to maintain that structure? Aba, ano yan, hero? 2 years lang as DILG, hero? Illustrious?”
