List Of Activities, Protests On 45th Martial Law Anniversary

Here is the list of the nationwide activities and protests lined up for the 45th Martial Law Anniversary on Thursday (September 21, 2017).

On Thursday, different groups will hold mass protests throughout the entire country in commemorating the signing of Proclamation 1081 or the declaration of martial on September 21, 1972, under the leadership of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

On September 23, 1972, the late dictator has formally declared a nationwide martial law, which was aired on the television.

Martial law era has been the darkest time for some of the Filipino people who suffered repression and torture from the abusive members of the Philippine military during this period. The country has also plunged into a debt of $24.4 billion in 1982.

Recently, President Duterte has declared Sept 21 as the “National Day of Protest” and also suspended the work and cl(–foul word(s) removed–) in public schools, but did not acknowledge it as a holiday.

    • 10:30 am: SB park, Batasan High School
    • 1 pm: Picket along Quezon Avenue, corner EDSA, organized by CAMB, Block Marcos, Kalipunan, iDefend
    • 2 pm: Misa ng mamayanan organized by #TindigPilipinas
    • 2 pm: Ecunemical service at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani in Quezon City, organized by CAMB, Block Marcos, Kalipunan, iDefend
    • 4 to 8 pm: “Stop the killings! Never again to tyranny and dictatorship!” at the Rizal Park
    • 4 pm: Martsa ng mamamayan from UP Chapel to the Commission on Human Rights; from Quezon City Hall to the Commission on Human Rights
