Alden Richards' Participation In Martial Law Special Gets Criticized

Alden Richards participation gets criticized.

ALDEN RICHARDS – Kapuso actor and Pambansang Bae Alden Richards gets to receive criticisms over participation and appearance in a Martial Law special.

Martial Law, according to the elder people who had experienced it, was the time when the country is in its darkest hour as violence and maltreatment are rampant and just everywhere.

The Martial Law was implied under the dictatorship of the late and remarkable president of the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos.

It was declared on September 21, 1972, and marked its end on January 17, 1981, under the Proclamation No. 2045 by the late president himself.

And with these, a lot of stories of sufferings have been told and was even showed.

And as for the upcoming anniversary of the Martial Law, a special has been made by the Kapuso network and one of the actors of whom has participated is Alden Richards together with Rocco Nacino.

The document-drama of GMA was aired on September 18 featuring the real-life story of Bonifacio “Boni” Ilagan and was also personally written by Boni.

The story is about the sufferings of Boni and Jose “Pete” Lacaba and how they have survived the harassment at such dark hour.

But then, accordingly to a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep), the participation of Alden Richards was not well-received by the people.

The Pambansang Bae has got criticisms from it.

One netizen said that he was disappointed with Alden for using his popularity to put the Marcos administration in a bad light.

And another said that it is just a “waste of time” of Alden for accepting such offer.

But then, Facebook administrator of the page of the GMA News and Public Affairs defended and said, “Hi Kapuso, ang docu-film na ito ay tungkol sa mga biktima ng human rights abuses noong Martial Law na hanggang ngayon ay nanghihingi ng hustisya kaya po mahirap sabihing mag-‘move on’ na lamang.”
