Sarah Christine Bona From PH Crowned as First Winner of Miss Nature Intercontinental

Sarah Christine Bona, a beauty queen from the Philippines has been crowned as the first ever winner of Miss Nature Intercontinental.

During the pageant which was held in Szczecin, Poland last September 4 to 10, she bested other candidates especially during the question and answer portion.

The former Binibining Pilipinas candidate impressed the judges and jurors when she was asked on how people can take care of rainforests.

“In our environment, the biggest problem is us. Yes, we may be the biggest threat, but we can also be its savior… [We can save rainforests by] raising awareness through information dissemination, through education, and sharing ideas through social media. With all those collective efforts, we, too, can save the world,” Sarah Christine Bona said.

According to the pageant’s website, Miss Nature Intercontinental is a competition that “draws attention to environmental issues,” and aims to “promote healthy living, ecology, and ecological awareness.”

Based on pageant blog Powerhouse PH, the 26-year-old Iriga, Camarines Sur-born beauty queen is a caregiver, midwife, nurse, and businesswoman.

In a report published by ABS-CBN News, it stated that she has also clinched the Top 5 in the 2017 Miss ASEAN Friendship.
