19-Year-Old Student Carl Angelo Arnaiz Who Allegedly Robbed A Taxi Driver, Killed By Police Officers

Carl Angelo Arnaiz, an elementary valedictorian, city scholar, and aspiring businessman slain by policemen for allegedly robbing a taxi driver.

The 19-year-old Carl Arnaiz was killed by Caloocan police officers last August 18, 2017, after he allegedly robbed the Taxi driver Tomas Bagcal. The taxi driver said that he picked up a passenger in Navotas, but the passenger pulled out a gun and took his wallet at the C3 road.

Bagcal stated that he reported the incident to Police Officer 1 Jeffrey Perez and Police Officer 1 Ricky Arquilita who chase the suspect. When the cops and the driver approached the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire.

The policemen were forced to fire back and shoot the culprit identified as Arnaiz who died due to several gun shots.

The victim went missing for 10 days until his family received a text message on August 28, 2017, from a funeral home saying that the body of Carl has been found.

However, numerous residents and officials in the area of the crime were not convinced on the statement of the police officers. The family and friends of the victim do not believe that Carl could do such things.

Arnaiz graduated from Tibagan Elementary School as a valedictorian and has the second-highest score on the entrance exam of Makati Science High School before studying interior design at the University of the Philippines (UP).

Unfortunately, the latter suffered from depression prompting him to take a break from his studies and focused to the sari-sari store owned by their family. He was also thinking of establishing his business as he draws a model of a French fries stands.

The family members of Carl are crying for justice and describes the death of their beloved Angelo as inhumane.
