Different Types Of “Anting-Anting” Allegedly Making Iloilo Drug Lord Invulnerable
The “anting-anting” of Iloilo drug lord Richard Prevendido appeared to be useless against the authorities who gunned him down during a police operation.
Amulet or locally known as “anting-anting is an object usually worn by a person believing that it could give them supernatural powers and abilities. Some people believe that wearing amulet can protect them from danger.
“Anting-anting” can be typically seen as a pendant of necklaces, statues, coins, rings, and engraved gems, parts of plants or animals. Magical spells, incantation, and scrolls with a magical inscription on it were also used by some people believing that it can protect them from trouble.
Recently, Richard Prevendido, the most notorious drug lord in Western Visayan and the number one target of the police authorities died after cops shoot him down during a police operation in Barangay Balabago, Jaro, Iloilo.
Police Senior Supt. Marlon Tayaba, acting director of Iloilo Provincial Police said that the “Anting-anting” of Prevendido is useless after the suspected drug lord died in a shootout during the raid.
The authorities recover “Lana” (Coconut Oil), statues, and large candles from the house of Prevendido, which was allegedly used by the drug lord as his amulet. The suspect was known as a slippery criminal who has countless supporters.
