UPDATED LIST: Class Suspensions for August 25 Due to Tropical Storm Jolina

Several local government units (LGUs) in the country declared the suspension of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) on Friday, August 25 due to Tropical Storm Jolina.

Aside from class suspension, tourism activities including hiking, trekking, and spelunking in Mt. Pulag in Kabayan, Benguet, Mt. Purgatory in Itogon, Benguet and Sagada Mountain Province were also suspended by the authorities.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Friday that the tropical depression Jolina has intensified into a tropical storm.

Jolina was moving slightly faster towards Northern-Central Luzon, according to the state weather bureau. As of 4 am on Friday, the weather agency found the tropical storm at 300 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
