Police Chief Jovie Espenido Denies Policemen Attempted To Kill Ozamiz Vice Mayor
The Ozamiz City Police Chief Jovie Espenido has denied that the policemen have attempted to kill Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog during the raid.
The Parojinog raid last month becomes the headlines of the news nationwide, which took the lives of Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., his wife, and 14 others after allegedly resisted the arrest.
The raid has also prompted the police authorities of Ozamiz City police to arrest Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and his brother Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. the Parojinog siblings were now facing criminal charges such as illegal possession of firearms and drugs.
Earlier, the camp of Parojinogs was claiming that the police authorities threw a grenade at the vice mayor, but it did not explode.
Chief Espenido has denied the allegations being thrown by Parojinog’s camp and said that if the assassination attempt was true they could kill her easily and replaced the grenade.
“Kung magsabi siya na yung hand grenade, hindi nakaputok, nandoon, naging exhibit. Kung sa amin galing yan, e di kunin na lang namin para di mo mamalayan. Kami ang nag-search. That’s very simple,” said by Espenido in an interview.
The police chief also explained that many people wanted the Ozamiz Vice Mayor dead because she is the most powerful in Parojinog family.
Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. was one of the narco-politicians tagged by President Rodrigo Duterte, but denied all the accusations linking him to the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country.
