Researchers reveal being single can kill faster than obesity.

SINGLE – An international study showed and proved that being single tends to be deadlier compared to that of obesity.

According to the report released by the New York Post, “loneliness is deadlier than obesity” thus, experts warned that people should consider this as a health risk.

About 218 studies about the health effects of loneliness and social isolation have been overlooked by the researchers of the United States and have found out that it causes the increase of a person’s death risk by half compared to that of the obesity.

Loneliness makes people feel worse both on the mental and the physical aspect and tends to suffer miserable symptoms when not feeling well than those who are not.
Obesity raises your death risk by 30% but social isolation and loneliness can make it increase by 50%.

Dr. Julianne Holt-Lunstad, Professor of Psychology at Brigham Young University, Utah indicated, “Being connected to others socially is widely considered a fundamental human need – crucial to both well-being and survival.”
Being single which eventually resulted to loneliness are at a high risk of an apparently lowered quality of life.

Even more, the Office of National Statistic stats recently showed that Britain is the loneliest country in Europe.
Holt-Lunstad further added, “There is robust evidence that social isolation and loneliness significantly increase risk for premature mortality, and the magnitude of the risk exceeds that of many leading health indicators.”
