Here’s the Reason Why Ayen Munji-Laurel Left ‘Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin’

Ayen Munji-Laurel revealed the reason why she left the top-rating ABS-CBN series, “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin” starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

According to the 45-year-old actress, she’s now pregnant with her fifth child on husband Franco Laurel.

Ayen portrays the role of the main antagonist in the noontime series which also stars with Coleen Garcia and Jake Cuenca.

She plays the character of Victoria Quintana-Dela Vega, the mother of the character of Jake named Carlos.

According to Ayen, her decision to leave the soap was hard but her pregnancy is her top priority at the moment.

She is five months pregnant and she’s set to give birth on December 12.

Ayen Munji-Laurel said that it was in October 2016 when she started taping Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin and it was only April 2017 when she found out that she’s having a child, a month before the series aired on TV.

Ayen shared that her manager Popoy Caritativo met Deo Endrinal of Dreamscape to discuss matters about her character on the Kimerald series.

“In fact, in a crying scene with Jake [Cuenca], I started to hyperventilate they had to call someone to check my pulse rate which was very high at that time. Hirap na talaga ako,” Ayen said in an interview with PEP.ph.

“They were very, very supportive and very caring. They even had a medical team on board while I was taping. They also reduced my cut-off time from 2 a.m. to 12 midnight. They were very considerate. I couldn’t ask for a better team. Sobrang bait nila,” she added.
