Parojinog Siblings Faces Criminal Charges Filed By DOJ

Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. and Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog are now facing criminal charges filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Previously, Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Parojinog Sr, his wife, and 14 others were killed after the authorities have raided their home in Ozamis. The Parojinogs was suspected as drug personalities.

President Rodrigo Duterte has tagged Mayor Parojinog as among the narco-politicians in the country.

The authorities recovered illegal substance and firearms from the Parojinog residence. Parojinog’s daughter Vice Mayor Nova Echaves was also arrested and under the investigation of Misamis Occidental police office.

The suspects initially resisted the arrest resulting in a shootout, which took the lives by some members of their family, according to the police authorities who served the search warrants against the accused.

On Friday (August 04, 2017), DOJ has officially filed criminal cases against the Parojinog siblings. Nova Princess and Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. were now facing criminal cases after the authorities raided their home.

The filing of the case against Parajinog siblings came after the resolution recommending charges against the accused was issued by the panel of prosecutors.

The Ozamiz City vice mayor was charged with illegal possession of drugs and firearms. While her brother Reynaldo Jr. was facing possession of illegal drugs, explosives, and firearms.

Nova Princess Parojinog claimed the raid conducted by the authorities was illegal and insisted that the police officers planted evidence against them. Parojinog’s camp also described that the raid was an overkill.

Parojinog siblings were currently detained at Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
