Alvarez Plans To Create New Agencies To Resolve Heavy Traffic In Metro Manila

New Agencies To Resolve Traffic Problems In Manila, Planned By House Speaker Alvarez

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez is planning to create new agencies that would focus on resolving the heavy traffic in Metro Manila.

On Tuesday (July 24, 2017), Alvarez has urged the Congress to form new agencies aiming to reduce the hellish traffic jam paralyzing Metro Manila for the past few years. The heavy traffic nationwide is one of the primary problems in the country.

President Rodrigo Duterte was now making efforts to resolve the heavy traffic not only in the Philippines but also in different regions all around the Philippines. He also even requested for emergency powers to address the traffic issues.

Alvarez was planning to merge the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Land Transportation Office (LTO). He also said that PH Railway Authority could govern the rails and a new regulatory body for airport operations should be established.

“We can merge LTO (Land Transportation Office) and LTFRB (Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board). Rails could be governed by a PH Railway Authority,” said by Alvarez quoted by ABS-CBN.

Recently, President Duterte said he was planning to reorganize government in making efficient transactions with different state agencies.
