Actress Ria Atayde has broken her silence over her rumored romance with actor-heartthrob Piolo Pascual.
During her guest appearance on the morning show, Magandang Buhay on Friday, July 14, she said she did not know what prodded many to link her with the 40-year-old actor.
According to her, she and Piolo Pascual are just good friends.
“Hindi ko nga alam, si Kuya Piolo naman ‘yon, hello? Wala lang ‘yon,” Ria Atayde said in an article published by ABS-CBN News.
It can be recalled that the two have been the talk online after they were spotted holding each other’s hand on Sunday noontime show, “ASAP.”
“Sobrang close naman talaga kami, hindi lang alam ng tao ‘yon,” she said.
“Ang tawag niya sa akin, ‘my Angel.’ [Siya], my Kuya. So, my Kuya, my Angel, ganoon,” she explained.
In a sideline interview, Ria Atayde admitted that she has an admiration to several Kapamilya stars including John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual.
Ria Atayde, is the daughter of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, who’s popular in her portrayal as Gloria in defunct afternoon series, “The Greatest Love.”
She is also the sister of Arjo Atayde, who made a name for himself as he played the role of Joaquin in top-rating, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
Ria Atayde came to prominence with her portrayal of Dra. Gia Divinagracia Lana in defunct primetime series, “My Dear Heart.”
