Ex-Inmate Jessie Boy Alverio Goes Back In Prison As Jail Officer

An ex-inmate named Jessie Boy Alverio who spent 6 years behind bars for the crime he didn’t commit, but now he goes back in prison as a jail officer.

Most of us don’t like to go back anymore to the place that gave us bad memories during the dark hours of our lives. A former inmate had no plans to go back in prison after he spent 6 years for the crime he never did.

Jessie Boy Alverio, a 31-year-old policeman spent many years behind bars after he was accused of a killing someone. Nearly, 10 years ago when he was a fresh criminology graduate, he was to return the motorcycle he borrowed from a friend in Bacoor, Cavite and get involved in a fist fight between his friend and a drunk neighbor.

Alverio and another friend intervenes and attempted to stop the fight, but it was all too late when the drunk guy was already lying on the road. His friend was arrested for physical injuries, so he tried to tell the full story and save his friends, but the cops accused him as an accomplice and dragged him in prison.

He resists the arrest and insisting his innocence, but the cops wouldn’t listen to him. The drunk guy eventually died after that day and their criminal charges elevated to murder. He spent six long years in jail, for the justice system in the Philippines was too slow.

The 31-year-old cop was freed last June 2014 and decided to self-review before taking the criminology board exams in October 2016. On December 2016, he received a good that he passed the board examinations and applied to become a police officer.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) accepted and returned to prison, but this time as a jail officer. He was now assigned as the jail officer at Parañaque City Jail.
