Filipino Millenial Joins ISIS, Fights In Syria
A Filipino millenial named Mohammad Reza Kiram has joined ISIS fighting in Syria and urges Filipinos to fight in the Philippines.
The 26-year-old Mohammad Reza Kiram has joined the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. He was along with a Malaysian and Indonesian nationals who urges Muslims to fight.
Kiram was first seen in a video released by ISIS last June 21, 2016. The 20-minute video shows how the Filipino millennial beheaded a Caucasian along with other nationals.
In the video, the Malaysian national was speaking in his native language encouraging Muslims to go and fight in the Philippines if they can’t go to Syria. The Filipino also urged his fellow countrymen in the Philippines to be strong.
“Mag-ingat kayo at maging malakas, huwag kayong magpadala sa mapanlinlang na taktika ng bagong halal na … si Duterte. Sumpain siya ng Allah,” said by Kiram quoted by Rappler.
The 3 members of the terror group brutally beheaded the 3 male Caucasians, who were accused as spies of the crusader alliance. The Malaysian was identified as Mohammed Rafi Udin and the Indonesian national was identified as Mohammed Saifudin Faiz.
The Filipino was a native of Zamboanga City who flew to Syria last 2015 together with his wife and daughter. Kiram’s arrival at the Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport on May 20, 2015 was confirmed by Turkish officials.
The authorities from 3 different countries including the Philippines said that Kiram is now on Raqqa. There are also some intelligence documents stating that Kiram was allegedly a part of Ansar Khalifa Philippines (AKP)
AKP was sub-group that was a former part of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) network and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
