PNP Tightens Security For Ariana Grande’s Manila Concert After Manchester Blast Leaving At Least 19 People Dead

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has tightened its security for Ariana Grande’s Manila Concert after the Manchester blast during her last concert.

Previously, at least 19 people died in a bomb explosion during the concert of the American pop singer Ariana Grande at Manchester, England. The incident sparked lots of new report in the social media and raised the concern of her fans for the upcoming concert in Manila.

On Tuesday (May 23, 2017), Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos, PNP spokesman said in a text message that the PNP must be involved in the upcoming concert of Ariana Grande in Manila to ensure the safety of the fans.

“The organizers of the Ariana Grande concert (in the Philippines) must involve the local PNP unit so that appropriate security arrangements and assistance can be extended to ensure the safety of the concert goers,” said by Carlos quoted by ABS-CBN.

Ariana Grande’s production team has been told by Carlos to present their security plan for the upcoming concert and to coordinate with the local authorities ahead of the event. Grande is set to hold a one-night-only concert in Manila on August 17, 2017, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

On her Twitter account, the American singer also apologized to her fans after the explosion in Machester last Monday night. “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words,” Grande said.
