The opening game of this year’s SEABA Championship was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night, May 12.

According to the report of the Summit Express, the national team seriously beat off their opponent by 147 to 40 lead score thus, buried them by 107 points.

Experts of the basketball have already yearned for the Gilas to be qualified in the South East Asian Qualifiers, that was when the game started.

But the come back coach of the team Coach Chot Reyes dismissed that thought and comments of the experts for they should not be confident enough.

Despite the late arrival of the naturalized Filipino player of the team, Andray Blatche, Gilas was still able to knock down the Myanmar.

As mentioned on the report, Coach Reyes have peeked an opportunity to experiment on his players by fielding unusual players like Allein Maliksi, Roger Pogoy and Matthew Wright mixed with Jayson Castro and Andray Blatche.

For the early lead of the game, Roger Pogoy, the rookie of the team was able to submit 11 points through three 3-point shots. 17 points was already on the score board when the opponent shot 2 points.

Fueled with hard work and determination to win the game, the Gilas did not gave their opponents the chance to submit score or even opportunities to be on the lead.

And with that burning passion that is within the players, the final horn of the game left the audience in awe as the opposing team was buried with 107 points.

Thus the final notch of the opening game was 147-40 in favor of the Gilas Pilipinas Team.

The next game of the national team will be on Saturday at 7 pm aired by the Sports 5 which is also live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
