PO1 Glenn Garbosa Arrested Over Extortion
PO1 Glenn Garbosa was arrested in an entrapment operation in Jaro, Iloilo for extorting on an old man, reaching a total amount of P185, 000.
Jaro PNP conducts an entrapment operation against the 28-year-old police officer Glenn Garbosa. He was arrested after extorting a large amount of cash from a retired teacher who was identified as Rey Fajutrao, 68-year-old.
Fajutrao was a married man and a resident of Lopez Jaena St. Brgy. San Isidro in Jaro Iloilo, while the police officer was residing in Zone 8, Brgy. Veteran’s village, City proper.
The 68-year-old man has reported to the Jaro PNP that PO1 Glenn Garbosa went to his residence last April 26, 2017, and introduce himself as an Intel operative assigned in Campo Delgado. Garbosa told Fajutrao that the authorities will raid his house due to an expired license of his firearm.
Garbosa explained that the senior citizen could prevent the raid of he will pay P37, 000 and will let the cop to process the renewal of his license.
On April 27, 2017, the police officer returned and ask an additional amount of P10, 000 to be used as marked money for the raid that will be conducted in Jaro. After a few hours, the cop returned again asking an additional amount of P40, 000 as a payment for his commanding officer and process for his license’ renewal.
On May 01, 2017, Garbosa returned to take a picture, fingerprints, and other documents from the retired teacher. He also asked another P15, 000 for the processing fee. In May 02, 2017, the cop asked P8, 000 and P12, 000 on May 03, 2017 to take the documents in Manila.
On May 04, 2017, the cop texted Fajutrao asking again an amount of P12, 000, but the old man did not respond. Garbosa threatens him that PNP will raid his house if he doesn’t get the amount he was asking.
The retired teacher reported the incident to Jaro PNP and found that the police office has been abusing him. In an entrapment operation, Garbosa was arrested after he was caught extorting money from the old man. The 28-year-old cop was a fresh graduate and now detained in Jaro PNP.
