The Supreme Court of the Philippines is expected to release the official results as well as the topnotchers (top 10 passers) of the November 2016 Bar Examination today, May 3, 2017, after the special en banc session.
The November 2016 Philippine Bar Exam was conducted during the four Sundays of November 2016 (November 6, 13, 20, and 27).
The Bar Examinations Committee is headed by Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr.
According to SC spokesman Theodore Te, the 115th bar exam was administered among 3,317 new candidates and 3,514 retakers. The Bar exam was held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Espana, Manila.
The Supreme Court of the Philippines conducts the Bar examinations pursuant to Article VIII, Section 5 of the Constitution which provides that it shall have the power to promulgate rules governing the admission to the practice of law.
