Meet Rachel Peters, the newest Miss Universe Philippines of 2017 from the Camarines Sur.
RACHEL PETERS – The new Miss Universe Philippines, Rachel Peters, a Filipino-British beauty, was crowned on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
According to the news report of GMA News, Rache; Peters is from Camarines Sur and is an event organizer who had already worked with the international stars like singers Katy Perry and Christine Aguilera.
Previous pageant in Miss World Philippines, she was crowed as the fourth princess.
Peters is currently in a relationship with Migz Villafuerte, of whom was tagged as the youngest governor of Camarines Sur.
However the new format of the famous pageant has left the audiences in abuzz. One new format is that only the Top 25 is allowed to walk their swimwear and evening gowns on the stage.
As being mentioned in the report, the new format gave the judges the opportunity to know other candidates better in a Question and Answer portion for the Top 15.
And another twist that shocked everyone is that the front-runner Charmaine Elima was only crowned as the First Runner-up.
Nevertheless, Peters has nailed the Question and Answer segments.
Based on the report of ABS-CBN News, she had conceded the that the biggest problem of the country today is the growing ‘divisiveness’ in politics, religion and culture along the issues regarding death penalty and the bloody war against the illegal drugs.
Peters cal for unity reverberated and eventually made her bring home the crown.
Winners also of the pageant were: Binibining Pilipinas Globe Nelda Ibe, Binibining Pilipinas International Maria Angelica de Leon; Binibining Pilipinas Supranational Chanel Olive Thomas; Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Katarina Sonja Rodriguez; and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Elizabeth Durado Clenci.
The pageant was hosted by the actor Xian Lim and Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.
