Priest Sells Fish For Church

A priest was selling fish to help in the building of the church.

A priest of Santa Church, Father Joel Silagpo, has decided to sell fish in order to help in the building of their church.

According to the report made the Definitely Filipino Buzz, his parishioners just laughed on that plan but when found put that he is serious of it, they give the capital he needed to make is possible.

The parishioners were even in doubt if he could do this because of the embarrassment he will because of the reason that he is priest.

You would not definitely believe that a priest would do this but Father Joel of Basilan did.

He is a priest of San Antonio de Padua of Sta. Clara Church in Lamitan City. He is just 37 years old.

Based on the report, th e church needs an immediate repair because its wooden structure has already run-down and the fund-raising the church has conducted is not enough to pay the workers of the construction.

As mentioned in the report, he stated that he can sacrifice fr the church because it is now dilapidated and thy need the fund for its building.

On another report made by NewsLine Philippines, it all started on the 16th of March when he went to Basakan. Then the idea struck him that could possibly get funds through selling fish.

He presented the idea on their meeting and was able to borrow 7,ooo pesos as his starting capital and returned it a week after.

And fortunately, the priest together with the youth had recorded a total earnings of 15,000 pesos.

By the end of the month he will return 20,000 pesos to the church, an amount enough for the salary of the construction workers for a week.

Aside from the selling of fish, they were also conducting a Bingo for a cause which is permitted by the local government.
