According to a report in The Herald, a change of rules in using an e-cigar and vape is being pushed through. Vape users should be aware of these changes for their safety.
At present generation, vape and e-cigarettes are used by most instead of buying the usual and common tobacco. If you have noticed in buying vape, the contents of liquid being used is not indicated.
Under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, e-cigarettes will already be monitored and as well as vaping.
For its users, what do you have to expect?
According to the report, the disposable vape will be standardized which means the tanks will only contain 2 ml. A consumer can’t even buy a more than 10 ml liquid a single time.
The new law will also demand the durability of the product since it has been observed that vapes get broken easily.
The new law will be effective starting next month, specifically, on the 20th of May. The contents of the product will be specified so that the users will be aware of what they are taking in.
The product should also be child-friendly. Since the common tobacco is dangerous to the health of the 2nd hand smokers compared to 1st hand user.
According to Alex Fry, Trading Standard Manager, they discovered that the shops know about the changes in the vaping law but there are retailers online who are not aware of it.
“We have found online sellers selling e-liquids in 1oo ml bottles with a nicotine strength over 20 mg/ml. After 20 May this will be illegal unless e-liquid is registered as a medicine,” he added.
According to Buzz Flare, as soon as this new law in vaping gets approved and be implemented, sellers who will fail to follow the rules will certainly face 2 years of imprisonment as punishment.
